Twenty-two years after the brutal murder of Axel Blumberg, his family and friends are holding an emotional tribute. Juan Carlos Blumberg, Axel's father, who decided to fight for justice after his son's murder, spoke with Noticias Argentinas. This Monday, March 23rd, on the anniversary, he will visit his son's grave at the Jardín del Pilar cemetery, followed by a mass at the church where Axel took his first communion. "Most of his friends are married, have children, and live in Germany, so they can't come, but I'm in constant contact with them, they always call me," Juan Carlos said. He continued, "Secondly, because his kidnappers and murderers will never be able to be like Axel: kind inside and out, intelligent, with ethics, capable of giving and receiving love from all of us who love him and there are many of us." This is one of the most resonant cases in the criminal history of Argentina, which for years generated various protests and radical changes in penal matters. During his captivity, Axel was subjected to brutal physical and psychological torture. In the early hours of March 23, they decided to release him and he began his journey. During the trip, the young man managed to escape from the car's trunk, started running, knocking on house doors and asking for help, but no one could save him. The kidnappers recaptured him and shot him in the temple. In 2006, the trial took place, and the Oral Court in Federal Matters No. 2 of San Martín convicted Sergio Miño (a minor), Carlos Díaz, José Díaz, and Martín Peralta.
